The time has finally come for 18 members of Taylor Made to take part in the Three Peaks Challenge.

Over the past 9 months, our 3 Peaks Team have been training extremely hard to prepare themselves for this day, clocking up over 700 miles doing training walks up Butser Hill, Brecon Beacons and even Snowdon, long runs and trips to the gym. For most of the team, this has been by far the biggest challenge they have undertaken and training for this challenge has been a huge part of their journey.

On Thursday 7th September, the 3 peaks team set off on their travels at 7am, where they began their 13-hour coach journey to Fort William, Scotland. When they safely arrived, they all tucked into a well-deserved meal and a good night sleep ahead of their first mountain the following day.

The nerves and excitement had the team up bright and early on Friday for breakfast. They spent the morning relaxing and exploring around Fort William, before they were due to start their health and safety team briefing with Dawn from Wessex Cancer Trust. She said, “Although I can see nerves are running high, the Taylor Made team are going to do great. They have done a phenomenal job with their training and fundraising, I’m so excited to see them achieve such a great challenge.”

At 4pm on Friday 8th September the 3 peaks team set off to their first mountain, Ben Nevis, Scotland (1345m) the tallest mountain in the UK. Their estimated time to complete their first mountain is 6 hours, finishing at around 10pm. They will then begin their travels to the second mountain, Scafell Pike, England (978m) which they are due to start at 4am on Saturday. Once completing the second mountain, they will then travel to Snowdon; Wales (1085m) with a starting time of 1pm on Saturday, due to complete the challenge for 5pm.

Once they have completed the challenge, they will all be hanging up those walking boots and rewarding themselves with a celebratory meal at the Boat Yard Inn.

Their determination and courage to achieve this has been phenomenal and their effort to raise £15,000 for Wessex Cancer Trust has been outstanding.
