Coffin Mew offer a range of legal services from four offices in Hampshire - North Harbour Portsmouth, Southampton, Fareham and Gosport. As an integral part of the community and business network, the firm has a heritage that stretches back over a century. During this time it has been the legal partner for many locally and nationally based organisations and individuals.
Today, Coffin Mew is one of the larger regional firms on the south coast with 26 Partners and a total of over 200 personnel.
Challenges Faced
As Coffin Mew is spread across a total of four sites, IT management and support had become a complex process. With approximately 200 users the administration of the desktop and server environments proved to be a time consuming and difficult exercise for the small internal IT team.
The ability to monitor and manage four sites was logistically impractical and onsite IT staff were unable to proactively support end users whilst maintaining centralised server hardware.

Solution
Taylor Made have partnered with Coffin Mew LLP for a number of years. For much of that time Taylor Made have worked alongside the existing internal IT team to assist with larger projects and extend their skill sets. As the firm continued to grow the demands on the IT systems and the complexity of the infrastructure also evolved. As a result, the day to day operation of the network demanded a higher level of monitoring and management.
The decision was made to introduce it BusinessCare and outsource all support to Taylor Made.
Results
The new support service includes 24/7 remote monitoring and management of the infrastructure as well as a dedicated onsite team of Taylor Made engineers.
• Backed up by the technical team at our office in Fareham, the onsite engineers carry out day to day tasks such as desktop faults, server maintenance and strategic planning.
