A £1million investment in the latest technology has sparked a surge in business for a Hampshire IT services specialist, which is now looking for 17 new staff to handle demand.

Fareham based Taylor Made Computer Solutions is looking to take on 17 new IT engineers immediately as clients clamour for its Hosted Solutions as a safe alternative to Cloud Computing.

The new faces will follow 25 starters taken on since January as Taylor Made bucks the economic trend, growing from 102 staff last year to 120 today and 137 once the latest recruitment campaign is complete.

An ambitious seven figure investment in one of the UK’s most secure datacentres has enabled the Cams Hall based business, which manages more than 6000 devices for over 250 companies across the south, to routinely offer services previously only available to the biggest multinationals.

Based in a no-fly zone in Segensworth, the Scottish and Southern Energy owned datacentre is where international companies house their precious data. Taylor Made has secured space inside to offer clients class-leading Hosted Solutions, which allow them to cut IT operating and energy costs and free up office space.

Securing access to one of the UK’s most high specification datacentres is a massive coup for Taylor Made, which also has a secondary datacentre on its Cams Hall Estate base that is ideal for Online Backup and Disaster Recovery.

Taylor Made managing director Nigel Taylor said: “One of the biggest concerns for companies is where their data is located and its security. This is one of the most reliable and secure datacentres on the planet, and it means we are able to offer something very special to our customers. As a result, we are having to scale up the business to cope with the interest.

“Although this was a significant investment for us, it’s just part of a rolling programme that ensures we stay at the forefront of this fast evolving sector.”

As well as a south-after position in an industry with a bright future, Taylor Made offers something else – a workplace previously ranked among the top 10 best small companies to work for in the UK.

Nigel said: “We take work life balance very seriously. Our team works really hard but at the end of the day everyone gets back home to enjoy their family lives and I’m really proud of that.”
