20 employees are aiming to climb three of the UK’s biggest peaks in 24 hours for Wessex Cancer Trust.

The Three Peaks Challenge will take place in September where the team will climb Ben Nevis, Scaffel Pike and Snowdon.

They will battle tiredness, blisters and aching legs as they scale some of the UK’s most famous mountains.

The Team are taking on this challenge in aid of Wessex Cancer Trust, after being inspired by the charity’s work.

Joe Jeffers, finance director at Taylor Made, said:

“We went along to talk about partnerships and were just blown away by the amazing work that the charity does.

The support they provide, not just for people facing cancer, but their families too, is a real life-line and can make a huge difference.”

Raising money for Wessex Cancer Trust

The Taylor Made Three Peaks team are hoping to raise £15,000 for the charity through thier mountaineering challenge.

That amount of money would be enough to fund nearly two years’ worth of counselling services.

The team are also organising a series of other fundraising events, including a music night at Portsmouth Guildhall, Bag Packing at Sainsbury’s Fareham to ensure they hit their £15,000 target.

The Taylor Made Three Peaks team is already training hard for its challenge. In May the team headed to Snowdon for a training weekend, where they climbed the famous mountain twice.

They will also get a feel for Scaffel Pike and Ben Nevis as they embark on a training exercise.

Nigel Taylor, managing director of Taylor Made Computer Solutions, said: “I’m so proud of the team and what they are set to achieve for Wessex Cancer Trust. I’ve always known our employees have ambition, motivation and a desire to help others and this is proof of just that.”

Wessex Cancer Trust aims to help children, teenagers and adults in the Wessex area who are living with cancer and make their lives and those of their families better at a time most needed.

Dawn Ingram, WCT

“We are really excited to be partnering with Taylor Made. The support of local companies is invaluable to the trust and the money raised through this exciting challenge will allow us to help support even more people living with cancer and make their lives better at a time when it is most needed.’’
