NOC Engineer

Taylor Made Computer Solutions is looking for a NOC Engineer to join a talented team currently working with a wide range of customers across a number of mixed environments.   

The Job 

As a NOC Engineer you will be responsible for the remote monitoring, management and maintenance (RMM) platform used to deploy, maintain and enhance Taylor Mades’ centralised managed services including support, automation, monitoring and preventative maintenance tasks.  

You will also be responsible for assisting with the monitoring, management and deployment of our Backup products and Data Centre Services portfolio

Responsibilities 

  • Utilise remote monitoring tools to provide an accurate monitoring, management and reporting solution  
  • Assist the IT Infrastructure projects team in the deployment of Managed Products into customer environments 
  • Ensure NOC systems are operating effectively, efficiently and meeting SLA’s 
  • Day to day administration, optimisation and configuration of the Taylor Made RMM (Solarwinds N-Central) 
  • Delivery of daily, weekly and monthly Customer reports. 
  • Development of new reports in line with business needs 
  • Assist Project Engineers with deployment of services. 
  • Script and automation policy creation 
  • Assist with Backup and Data Centre Services tasks as required by the NOC Team Leader. 
  • Work in line with ITIL procedures  

 Skills: 

  • A good ability to work well as an individual and as part of a team 
  • Good inter-personal, customer service and telephone skills 
  • Experienced with monitoring platforms (Full N-Central training can be provided) 
  • Understanding of ITIL frameworks  
  • Experienced with Windows Desktop operating systems – configuration and support 
  • Experienced with Windows Server – configuration and support 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange configuration and support experience 
  • Networking experience – (switches, routers and firewalls) 

 Desirable skills (non essential) 

  •  Citrix Virtual Apps and desktop support experience 
  • VMWare administration skills 
  • HP Proliant server hardware installation and support 
  • Baseline understanding of Backup solutions (either Veeam, Datto, Solarwinds MPS backup)
